Adoption is such a beautiful thing, but it’s no secret that the process is not just a walk in the park. However, some people are more than willing to take the risk, and welcoming these kids to their home feels natural to them.
When Sara Cozard from Washington first set eyes on a young man who she fostered, she knew he would one day become her son. Now all she could wait for was the official adoption day.
Sara and her husband Stuart Shank have always wanted to share their home with children in need. After returning from their honeymoon, the couple began the process to become foster parents.
Since she’s still quite young, Sara prefers to foster toddlers and babies as she felt that she could be a more effective mom to them than to older kids. However, things changed when they met Michael.
Michael was just three years old when Sara and Stuart fell in love with him. They had a strong connection with the boy that adopting him felt like the right thing to do. But there’s a catch, Michael has an older brother, Dayshawn.
As Dayshawn was older by some years, they were hesitant, but they thought they’d give it a try after speaking with him. For Sara, watching the two brothers reunite in one of their supervised visits filled her heart with a maternal instinct that wanted the kids to be together.
“There’s only a 13-year age difference between me and Dayshwan. But the second I started talking to him, all my fears went out the window… Being his mom feels so natural. He doesn’t even seem to notice that I’m so young (or he just doesn’t care.) To him, I’m just his mom.”
The four had become an extremely tight-knit family, and they couldn’t imagine their lives apart. So the couple decided to begin the process of adopting the two brothers. To make everything official, Sara, Stuart, Michael, and Dayshawn needed to face a judge, who will decide their fate.
Not wanting to let go of the people he had learned to love and respect as his parents, Dayshawn took charge in court, even interrupting the judge to explain why he wanted to be adopted by Sara and Stuart.
“They’re just really the best thing that I’ve ever had … If I could wish anything in the world, I just wish that I could love these people for the rest of my life.”
And just like that, Michael and Dayshawn officially became Sara and Stuart’s sons.
Pass the tissues!

For one particular bride, Krysten Green, her all-time favorite Disney animated film is “The Little Mermaid.” Although she had a beautiful traditional wedding, her dad didn’t want to end the ceremony without incorporating the 1989 movie in the event. That’s when he found the best wedding gift for his beloved daughter.
Identical Twin Sisters Gave Birth To Sons On The Same Day
If this doesn’t make you believe in a special twin bond, then we don’t know what will.
Twins have a different bond than regular brothers and sisters. They have a connection that only they could understand. And sometimes, these connections are so incredible that some stories seemed to be straight out of a movie.
Take identical twins Jalynne April Crawford and Janelle Ann Leopoldo’s story, for example. The sisters gave birth to sons on the same day, in the same Arizona hospital and both by C-section. If that doesn't make you believe in a special twin bond, then we don't know what will.
6-Year-Old Girl Takes Care Of Paralyzed Father After Mom Abandoned Them
She has never made a single complaint!
Most six-year-olds spend their days playing with their friends and having fun with their family. However, one little girl is already the full-time caregiver of her paralyzed father. The child had to take on the responsibility after her mother decided to abandon them because of her husband's disability.
Jia Jia of the Ningxia Province in China has been taking care of her bed-ridden father since her mother left them two years ago. The little girl would get up very early to massage her father's muscles for around 30 minutes. She also feeds him, helps him brush his teeth, and moves him around using a home-made mobility hoist.
Little Jia Jia is truly her own father's hero.
